Anya Taylor-Joy, who is half-English/half Spanish child of Dennis Alan Taylor who was a banker in his former career as well as Jennifer Marina Joy. Her father is an Argentine who is of Scottish and English descent. Her mother is of Spanish and English heritage. The four siblings of Taylor-Joy are from her father's previous marriage. They lived within Buenos Aires up until Taylor-Joy aged 6 and later moving to Victoria district of London. Taylor Joy states that the move was a very difficult experience. She refused to learn English and believed she would be able to return to Argentina. Hill House was the new school she had to attend following her departure from Northlands. Later she attended Queen's Gate School, where she took dance classes and was a part in shows. She dropped out of high school when she was 16 in order to focus on her acting profession. From a young age Taylor-Joy was aware of her desire to be an actor and her goals were realized when she received a modeling contract from Sarah Doukas the founder of Storm Management.
